I have a Part 2 to add to this story I posted earlier entitled After the Tornado, about the Quad-State tornado that hit Mayfield. As I said at the end of that post, I kept telling Penny this was like the loaves and the fishes when Jesus fed the 5000. She put out a little bit of stuff – water and food – and then other people just kept bringing more to add to it until she had a full-fledged official Red Cross relief center there at her business. The huge portable building that was donated has been filled and totally emptied 3 times already by distributions to the area.
Now here's the fun part! Penny loves "The Chosen," the series I posted about that tells the story of Jesus's followers. When we started showing it at church, she drove an hour from her home to watch it, even though she had already seen the whole series!
Recently the series producers had publicized they were casting fans as extras for an episode in the spring. Penny applied to be one of those extras and she got chosen! And guess what episode she will be in? THE FEEDING OF THE 5000: THE LOAVES AND THE FISHES!!!!! I think God was laughing as hard as I was : )
